Dear Reader,

I don’t know if you’ve noticed it, but the vast majority of the testimonial on our testimonials page (at least, the ones I have uploaded until now) aren’t for our flagship and original products – Chinese tea.

In fact, while those are at the top of the page and rightfully so, the COFFEE testimonials are what hog the rest of the page, and how!

It’s not a secret that the Chinese love to drink tea, my friend.

Anytime one thinks “organic teas”, one thinks China, and Chinese teas, and rightfully so, but what is NOT known (or not known to all, at any rate!) is the craze for coffee in this giant country.

And this is a recent thing, by the way!

And it’s a niche that can ONLY be filled by those a) in the know with regard to local tastes, b) with an in depth knowledge of the local market, and c) who know WHERE exactly to procure high quality coffee.

Lets start with c).

You might imagine that China, being a country where pretty much everything is manufactured (or used to be, at least, until the very recent past), a country that has grown by leaps and bounds and a country where pretty much any product you’d find in the West is available assuming you pay the right place . . . would also be a place where high quality coffee is easily found.

Not so, my friend.

In fact the country is mostly known for its high grade teas (and as I’ve said, there are many!) – and while China DOES produce coffee, and not bad coffee to be honest, it still isn’t anywhere near as good as what you can find outside China in a lot of places.

And the Chinese are tapping into this “want” – big time!

Believe it or not, a lot of young Chinese these days want to be seen drinking coffee . . . not just because they like the taste or even IF they do, but because it’s seen as trendy.

Because it’s seen as “keeping up with the Joneses” and how, and in a country where iphones rule, pretty much because they give the locals that all important “face”, coffee serves the same purpose.

And funnily enough, or maybe not, despite the plethora of local coffee chains opening up, high quality coffee is very hard to find in mainland China (and note – high quality coffee is NOT made by adding milk and sugar – just as real tea is NOT made by adding milk to it! ?).

And that is where Shristi Imports comes in my friends.

Over the past year, I got into importing coffee into mainland China – – along with EXPORTING teas and other items from there – – in a big, big way.

Along with getting into importing and exporting other items (namely dried fruits, peppers, cardammom and more).

(And camphor too for those in India, a country where there is huge demand for the same).

But coffee was really what I focused upon, and hence the testiominals, and today, as we start to limp back from a post COVID world (don’t even get me started on the silly scare, hehe), the demand is starting to rise – yet again.

So if you’re interested in high quality coffee sourced straight from either Brazil or Venezuela – or (and this is even higher quality stuff) from Southern India – give me a holla, and I’ll see what I can do!

And of course, we’re always open for doing business with regard to tea – just drop me a line or fill out the “request a quote” form, and we’ll get back to you at the soonest!

Best,

Rahul Mookerjee

P.S. – If you’re interested in trying coffee that will literally make your taste buds SCREAM with delight – coffee imported straight from the BaiMudan mountain in Southern India, then give us a shout, and we’ll see what we can do for YOU!
